Keynote Presenters at 2019 National Race Amity Conference were announced as the conference enters its ninth year in November.
The 2019 conference planners announced that its 2019 keynote presenters on the theme “Finding Our Paths In Bridging The Racial Divide”, will include, along with others,
- Tim Wise, Activist/Author
- Jesse Washington, ESPN’s Undefeated Senior Writer
- Layli Maparyan, PhD, Executive Director of the Wellesley Centers for Women and Professor of Africana Studies at Wellesley College
- Don Mullan, International Activist/Author
William H. “Smitty” Smith said “In addition to the outstanding keynote presenters who are leaders of thought and action who have committed to participate, we will also be issuing a call for proposals during breakout sessions at this years conference.” Smith said the Call for Proposals will go out on July 15 and is a new direction to the process of identifying conference presenters. “One of the recommendations from last year’s conference feedback session was that the conference planners could get a broader pool of presenters through a call for proposals approach instead of using the race amity network of allies for presenter recommendations”, Smith said.
