Join us on Saturday April 5 for an engaging and inspiring virtual presentation on “Pioneering Race Amity: Key Takeaways from Illinois.” Jim Percic and Bette Lawrence-Water, co-chairs of Illinois Citizens for Race Amity, will share how their efforts to promote race amity have flourished in Illinois, with Race Amity Day proclamations in the Illinois State House and Senate, as well as county and municipal proclamations and picnics and gatherings to celebrate Race Amity Day in several cities and towns across the state.
The presentation will be followed by Q&A and sharing of plans and ideas for celebrating Race Amity Day in 2025!
Jim Percic has spent his life involved with organizations that help to better the community. He founded Illinois Citizens for Race Amity in 2020 to work towards having Race Amity Day proclaimed throughout Illinois, putting on events on Race Amity Day to bring people together to move beyond divisiveness, and to partner with like-minded organizations in ongoing efforts to build unified, inclusive communities. Jim also serves on the board of Together is Better Alliance, an organization dedicated to education and action to eliminate racism.
