NCRA has launched the Godmothers of Race Amity Plaza Brick Campaign to support the new National Race Amity Institute (NRAI) under construction in Atlanta, Georgia.
The groundbreaking for the BE on Edgewood Complex, which will house the NRAI, was held on July 11 only a block and a half from the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Park and the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church. The National Race Amity Institute will be the anchor tenant of the BE on Edgewood Complex, occupying 3,000 square feet on the ground floor adjacent to a 200-seat auditorium and performance space.
The Godmothers of Race Amity Plaza will be the entrance to the National Race Amity Institute, facing the bustling and vibrant Edgewood Avenue. It will be dedicated to the “Godmothers of Race Amity,” Mary McLeod Bethune and Eleanor Roosevelt, whose friendship is an iconic example of race amity in action.
NCRA supporters are invited to purchase a brick in the Godmothers of Race Amity Plaza and engrave it with a dedication or uplifting message of their choice. Participating in the Godmothers of Race Amity Plaza Brick Campaign will help to launch a new, dynamic cultural institution in the heart of Atlanta’s Civil Rights district and make a permanent contribution to its welcoming plaza.
