National Race Amity Institute
A center of research, education, training, youth outreach and the arts, housed in the Be on Edgewood complex in Atlanta’s historic Sweet Auburn district, only a block and a half from the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Park and the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church.
The National Race Amity Institute is located in the Be on Edgewood complex, 395 Edgewood Ave. SE, Atlanta, GA.
This historic preservation site in the heart of Atlanta’s historic Sweet Auburn district has now been completely renovated and repurposed to serve as a community center, co-working space and performance venue, as well as the home of the National Race Amity Institute, the educational and research arm of the National Center for Race Amity.
Be on Edgewood offers office space for local businesses and nonprofits, as well as flexible spaces for community gatherings and performances. Atlanta-based Yavari Development Corporation provided philanthropic support to the project, and the City of Atlanta provided a $1.45 million grant to assist with the renovation and reconstruction.
