The spring 2023 session of the Race Amity Leadership Academy kicked off with a field trip to Boston’s Museum of African American History on March 11, 2023.
This initial pilot program involves middle and high school students connected to the Boston Boys and Girls Clubs, who are guided and mentored by three Dwight W. Allen Fellows recruited from Roxbury Community College. On Saturdays for the duration of the school year, they will participate in field trips, service projects, in-club activities and celebrations, including visits to the Chinese Cultural Center/Chinatown and the Veronica Robles Cultural Center, as well as a viewing and discussion of the documentary film An American Story: Race Amity and the Other Tradition.
The end-of-year celebration will take place on May 27, 2023.
